In contrast to previous data on aromatase inhibitors, which suggested a nonsignificant trend toward increased risks of myocardial infarction and ischemic stroke in women with breast cancer, our study found that women with abdominal obesity—regardless of aromatase inhibitor treatment—had significantly higher risks of CVD and stroke alone [ 29 ].
