23 Then in 2014, a national survey among Thais born before 1992 showed an increasing trend of past HBV infection (evidenced by both HBsAg and anti-HBc positivity) with age and significantly higher levels of these serological markers compared to individuals born after 1992 or those who had received HBV vaccination through the EPI program. 10 Recent studies in PWID adults reported no correlation between IDU and recent HBV infection (indicated solely by HBsAg positivity). 24 , 25 However, a significant association was found between recent or past HBV infections and individuals in both the unsure and unvaccinated groups.
