There were highly significant differences in the distributions of SPC 2 and, to a lesser extent SPC 3 , between men and women at every BMI range: normal weight (BMI 18.5<25 kg/m 2 ), overweight (BMI 25<30 kg/m 2 ) and obese (BMI >30 kg/m 2 ) ( Fig 2A and S6 Table in S1 File ), where the median values were higher for women across all BMI categories (S7 Table in S1 File ).
