Interestingly, there was a highly significant interaction between the amount of intravenous fluids, NPO time and contrast volume and changes in post-procedure creatinine suggesting that the dangers of fasting in regards to CA-AKI might vary depending on clinical factors such as hydration state and amount of contrast used.
