Interestingly, there was a highly significant reduction in the abundance of components of the Nrf2 pathway (referred to here as ‘KEAP1-NFE2L2 pathway’) in the epidermis of K5-R1/R2 mice, as well as changes in ‘cellular responses to stress’ and mild, although non-significant, changes in ‘detoxification of ROS’ ( Fig. 1A ).
