For trials with the load force perturbation, we found highly significant differences between the baseline grip force and grip force level after the load force was increased ( t ( 119 ) = 8.01 , P = 1.8 · 10 − 7 ) or decreased ( t ( 119 ) = − 4.03 , P = 2.7 · 10 − 5 ).
