Older age (≥60 years) was not associated with major bleeding in our study though a previous analysis of the NIS database, which focused on the impact of age on the delays in initiation of TPE for iTTP, reported marginal significance of age ≥ 60 years as a risk factor on major bleeding [ 22 ].
