Research indicates that gamma oscillations are highly significant in various cognitive processes, including visual perception, learning, memory, and visuospatial focused attention.[ 18 ] It has been hypothesized that gamma oscillations are responsible for the active maintenance of WM representations when there are no external stimuli present.[ 19 20 21 ] Furthermore, it has been demonstrated that gamma activity synchronization can accurately predict an individual’s WM ability.[ 22 23 ] Low beta and gamma power are related to lower attention and feature binding, respectively.
