The variation among the amplicons was found to be marginally significant for the ONT dataset and significant for the PacBio dataset at species level (ONT: p = 0.055, R 2 = 0.372; PacBio: p = 0.0002, R 2 = 0.395, refer Supplementary Table 2), with significant differences seen across both sequencing platforms at genus level (ONT: p = 9.999e-05, R 2 = 0.751; PacBio: p = 9.999e-05, R 2 = 0.579).
