Correspondingly, NILR demonstrated an increasing trend of false negatives (0.56 for overall posterior teeth, 0.66 for premolars, and 0.43 for molars), indicating that the probability of proximal surfaces actually affected by caries being incorrectly diagnosed as healthy by NILR has increased.
