A post hoc analysis of a negative study on mirtazapine in 218 patients with depression suggested a positive trend in reducing median NPI scores [ 70 ], but in the 12-week SYMBAD study, mirtazapine (up to 45 mg/day) did not reduce agitation (measured with CMAI score) [ 71 ].
