The global increase in TARs observed in the period 2001–2022 was mainly owing to that of the seven regions with an increasing trend, especially Lombardy and Emilia Romagna capturing more than half of the total number of procedures, while all the other regions but Liguria have remained nearly constant over time ( p > 0.05 for monotonic trend).
