The z -score returned by Getis–Ord Gi* test statistic is a value of of 1, 2, or 3, with the highest z -score indicating a highly significant cluster of mortality at the 90%, 95% and 99% significance level respectively, such that the mortality risk in that census tract is much higher than surrounding tracts, and an increase that is higher than what can be attributed to random chance.
