A 2022 global survey of health care professionals revealed that 10.25%–13.98% of respondents said they had never received training on opioid treatment for cancer pain, and 46.60% cited a lack of pain/palliative care services and inadequate knowledge among health care professionals as "highly significant" potential barriers to cancer pain management [ 25 ].
