MR spectroscopy findings on glioma intratumor metabolites have indicated that tumor regions with a high concentration of lactate, a marker of hypoxia, exhibited an increasing trend in ADC values [ 45 ]; hence the elevated ADC levels in Habitat 2 may reflect more severe hypoxia, which correlates with shorter PFS [ 46 ].
