When the same genes were subjected to this analysis using their cerebellum expression levels, an interesting trend emerged: Although the genes that are up-regulated in cortex are also slightly up-regulated in cerebellum, those that are down-regulated in cortex show almost no change at all in cerebellum ( Figure 3 ).
