The presence of hydrogen in the structure of the LiNbO 3 crystal leads to the formation of complex defects: V Li -OH, Nb Li -OH, Me-OH, Me-OH-Me, etc., and to a change in its nonlinear optical and ferroelectric characteristics, affecting such practically significant properties of the LiNbO 3 crystal as photoluminescence, photorefractive thermal fixation, dark conductivity and photorefractive sensitivity [ 41 ].
