The CIA was plotted on the ternary diagram (A-CN-K) 68 and used to deduce the chemical weathering trends. Based on the A-CN-K ternary diagram, the most analyzed Qusaiba shale samples were plotted above the line of plagioclase and k-feldspar and exhibit a definite trend of weathering, ranging from a moderate to a relatively high degree of chemical weathering ( Figure 13 ).
