Despite a positive trend since the early 2000s, where employment rates for disabled individuals doubled between 2003 and 2009 (with an absolute increase of threefold in the number of employed individuals with disabilities), Romania still has one of the lowest employment rates for people with disabilities in Europe [ 15 ]; even if legislative frameworks (like Law No. 448/2006) ensure employment rights and reasonable accommodations, practical implementation faces significant challenges.
