Peripheral distribution of mitochondria was significantly ( p < 0.05) higher in the control group (80% ± 5.77%) than in other groups that had no peripheral distribution (0%) and had a highly significant percentage of semi-peripheral mitochondria distribution (20% ± 5.77%) than in other groups.
