[ 14 ] found a decreasing trend in all study variables (pain, ankle volume, and ankle ROM) between pre- and post-treatment values, proving that the use of different thermal modalities during the transition from the acute to the chronic phase of injury can be suggested as effective treatment options to reduce pain, improve ROM and manage swelling.
