Circulating T cell fraction remained highly significant after adjusting for clinical factors in the pan-cancer cohort (Fig. 5b (HR = 0.76, P = 2.6 × 10 −46 ) and Extended Data Fig. 9a ) and within five individual cancer types after multiple hypothesis correction—head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HR = 0.70, adjusted P = 4.68 × 10 −2 ), pancreatic adenocarcinoma (HR = 0.74, adjusted P = 4.81 × 10 −2 ), colon adenocarcinoma (HR = 0.85, adjusted P = 1.12 × 10 − 2 ), lung adenocarcinoma (HR = 0.80, adjusted P = 5.4 × 10 −3 ) and sarcoma (HR = 0.68, adjusted P = 1.57 × 10 −4 ).
