Significant associations were also found with cell biomarker indices NLR ( p = 0.016) and MLR ( p = 0.004) (Table 7 ). Adjusting also for the outcome of the original acute event, these associations remained highly significant for both total and cardiac disease mortality (Supplementary Tables S1 and S2, respectively (see Additional File 1)).
