A scoping review study including 27 articles from Sub-Saharan Africa revealed an increasing trend of awareness; however, the use of EC was low (0% in the Congo and Ethiopia to 54.1% in Nigeria) compared to awareness (approximately 93%).[ 20 ] In comparison, our study found that only 5% of women had ever used EC.
