Although they cannot be compared statistically, the results of Experiments 3 and 4 show a notable trend toward increased consumption in the no‐shock mice that underwent adolescent ethanol exposure (Experiment 3 average consumption male = 12.66 ± 0.89, female = 17.43 ± 1.45; Experiment 4 average consumption male = 16.61 ± 1.50, female = 21.59 ± 1.14) that was not seen in shocked animals.
