Thus, the mediating process by which DMT reduces the level of parenting stress in mothers of children with ASD by reducing their depression and anxiety can be explained as follows: the direct effect of DMT on parenting stress in mothers of children with ASD may not be significant, but depression and anxiety, as common negative emotions in individuals, are related to the level of stress in individuals, and the lower the level of depression and anxiety in individuals, the lower their level of parenting stress.
