In accordance with other studies that have shown an increasing trend in NDMs, constituting the predominant mechanism of resistance [ 10 , 16 ], in several regions in Greece, our study indicates a decrease in VIM from 15.4% in 2020 to 11.8% in 2024, with a simultaneously increase in NDM enzymes from 16.7% in 2020 to 26.4% in 2024, resulting in metallo-β-lactamases becoming second in carbapenemase prevalence among CPEs.
