The Cochrane Collaboration and their review on the same aspect suggest a 2-year timeline before updating an SRMA.[ 2 ] However, there may be significant limitations with this fixed timeline, particularly with much original research being published on fascinating and controversial topics that have clinical importance in improving patient care.[ 2 ] Moreover, it usually takes a median of 16 (interquartile range: 10–24) months for an SRMA to get published from conception and design.[ 3 ] It is feasible for different research groups around the globe to plan an SRMA on the same topic within overlapping time.
