Although the odds ratio of 1.09 is close to the upper limit of the confidence interval ( 7 , 8 , 10 , 12 , 14 ), indicating a possible trend in favor of the experimental group (intramedullary nails combined with blocking screws), this did not reach the traditional level of statistical significance ( Figure 5 ).
