In contrast, measles vaccination coverage exhibited an increasing trend, rising from 84.3% in 2012 to 88.6% in 2023, which aligns with national trends reporting an increase from 84% in 2011 to 97% in 2020. 22 While measles vaccination indirectly mitigates diarrhoea risk by preventing measles-associated complications, it does not substitute the protective benefits of vitamin A in gut and immune health.
