Although Nigeria exhibited a highly significant pro-rural inequity of U5M in this study as supported by an earlier finding [ 47 ], we see from literature that there is an increasing number of slums interspersed in some urban areas [ 48 ]; a phenomenon that could be responsible for the pro-non-rural trend in U5M found in some African countries such as Kenya and Tanzania.
