Since the majority of classes 1 and 2 were patients with early stages of CKD (stages 1 and 2) at enrollment and half of them had CKD stage 1, factors that are previously known to be related to a rapid GFR decline other than proteinuria might not be significant in patients with stage 1 CKD.
