Given that targeted metabolomics in Hashimoto’s disease is an understudied field, we selected to analyze our data with several statistical techniques and discuss the results to show the subtle but biologically relevant changes, acknowledging that some may not be significant after the multiple comparison corrections.
Network analysis methods, such as DSPC and others employed in the present and previous studies, are expected to shed light on these borderline significance differences and especially their association with related phenotypical traits, such as dysfunctional TCA with fatigue in Hashimoto.
