Because of these properties, it has an important role in reducing the consumption of some anesthetics, such as opioids, in the intraoperative and postoperative period, and consequently avoiding their adverse effects, such as nausea, vomiting, respiratory depression, hyperalgesia, and possibly significant changes in the immune system [ 1 , 2 ].
