Specifically, membership in the high discrimination subgroup (HR, 1.27 [95% CI, 1.09–1.49]) was associated with greater risk of a CVD event when adjusted for socioeconomic status (model 2), and again when adjusted for cardiovascular health factors/clinical mediators (HR, 1.29; [95% CI, 1.10–1.51]) (model 3), whereas membership in the multiple high stressors subgroup (HR, 1.30 [95% CI, 1.00–1.68]) was marginally significant when adjusting for socioeconomic status but once again significant (HR, 1.30 [95% CI, 1.00, 1.69]) after adjusting for cardiovascular health factors.
