The intriguing results showed a modest but highly significant hyperglycemia at 4 months followed by a progressive decrease to euglycemia between 12 and 18 months of age, increasing thereafter to the previous levels of hyperglycemia from 18 months to 4 years, 2 months prior to autoantibody positivity ( 231 ).
