The elderly subgroup (aged >65 years, n = 418, 18.7% of the total cohort population) showed a marginally significant increase of IRR for advanced CKD stages (IRR of 1.85, 2.21, and 3.38 for G2, G3a–3b and G4, respectively) possibly due to insufficient statistical power.
