Using a logistic regression model, we found that several factors had a highly significant influence on whether a proximal eQTL was detected as an aiQTL; namely, the distance of the eQTL from the TSS (P = 1 × 10 − 38 ), the number of samples with more than one allele-specifically mapped read (P = 1 × 10 − 88 ), the log P value of the eQTL (P = 3 × 10 − 174 ), the minor allele frequency of the eQTL (P = 2 × 10 − 44 ) and the median number of allele-specifically mapped reads (among samples with more than one allele-specifically mapped read; P = 0.008).
