Overall, both purine metabolism and fatty acid metabolism have been reported as highly significant in GBM, with emerging relationships to tumor resistance [ 53 , 54 , 55 ], and the current analysis supports that, indeed, several compounds may be captured in the serum and tumor tissue of patients with GBM, leading to potential mechanistic relationships for further research.
