Quantitative fluorescence measurement revealed a highly significant increase in MMP9 fluorescence intensity only in laser-irradiated 3D skin models that were additionally treated with the dexpanthenol-containing ointment compared to untreated controls and picosecond laser-irradiated 3D skin models without dexpanthenol-containing ointment post-treatment (Fig. 4 d).
