The correlation between the total lesion load across the four fibre tracts and the mean CoC was highly significant (τ = 0.31; p = 0.005; Fig. 5 ), the correlation remained significant when only patients with damage to the basal ganglia were included (τ = 0.32; p = 0.023), but not for the thalamic stroke patient sample (τ = 0.24; p = 0.27).
