The initial rise in urinary ANG-(1–7) was detected at 12 weeks of gestation, but an increasing trend was observed as early as week 6 of pregnancy, suggesting that early adaptive changes in the renal RAS system may contribute to changes in fluid and electrolyte balance throughout pregnancy.
