A recent phase 2 clinical study in patients with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and stage F2 or F3 fibrosis found that 52 weeks of tirzepatide administration significantly improved the resolution of NASH without worsening fibrosis, but had only a weak trend toward fibrosis regression ( Loomba et al., 2024a ).
