The stratification displayed borderline significance when analyzed using the multivariable log‐rank test ( p = 0.05) but displayed statistical significance when only considering the high and low‐risk groups (log‐rank: p = 0.02).
3.3 Stage group performance for RFS prognostication and stratification The patients were grouped into their conventional AJCC defined pathological stages (I, II, III), where stage was found to stratify patients into risk groups of RFS in the testing cohort, however, this stratification was only borderline significant (HR = 1.77 [95% CI: 1.05–2.97]; multivariable log‐rank: p = 0.049) as shown in Figure 4b .
