In addition to the potential influence of age and BMI on how perceived stress affects problematic eating, other demographic variables (i.e., gender, education, place of birth, only child status, and nationality) also showed more or less significant between-group differences across the main variables (see Table 1 ), which implied that they are likely to confuse the results.
