Results Fisetin effectively inhibited the apoptosis of CCSMCs in NED rats following CNI Compared to those in the control group, the protein and messenger RNA (mRNA) expression levels of caspase 3, caspase 9, and Bax in CCSMCs of the model rats were significantly increased, while the protein and mRNA expression levels of Bcl-2 showed a decreasing trend, although this was not significantly significant ( Figure 1A-1C ).
