From the best synchrony model (model 6; Table S4 ), the geometric mean lambda for Antarctic fur seals was estimated as 0.984 [0.974, 0.995], equivalent to an annual decline of 2% since 1985; and for southern elephant seals, the geometric mean lambda was estimated as 0.993 [0.985, 1.001], equivalent to an almost significant annual decline of 1%.
