This poor prognosis can be attributed to the retinal and optic nerve damage caused by posterior wounds, which heal poorly and lack regenerative ability, despite full anatomical correction.[ 10 ] By multivariate analysis in our study, the zone of injury was a highly significant predictor influencing the final VA.
