Although there are reports 4 27 that the use of riluzole improves mortality by up to 23% and 15% at 6 and 12 months, respectively, other authors 28 have found that riluzole therapy was associated with a survival advantage only in certain stages of the disease. Borderline significant differences were found in terms of median survival time since diagnosis after stratifying patients according to the median interval between onset and diagnosis.
