In 17 patients, a highly significant increase in blood flow in both frontal and parieto-temporal areas of the brain was noted after six months of treatment using a cholinesterase inhibitor, with the increase being highly statistically significant at p < 0.001, as reported by Ceravolo et al. in 2006.
